Placeholder characters in 3.5 splash screen on Linux

Reading another thread about splash screen fonts, I’ve noticed that splash screen has changed for me with the latest update too. It now looks like this:

There are some placeholder characters around my name and version number. Versions 3.4 and before didn’t have this problem.

Using linux too and also have the same placeholder characters since updating to 3.5.
