It’s not like the open standard formats of VST or AU, where any programmer can create new effects that can “plug in” to Renoise. The devices/effects are created specially for Renoise and are part of the application itself. If I wanted to create a new effect, for example, I would have to submit the code to the Renoise team, get it approved, and then it would become part of Renoise. It would not be a plugin.
