Poly+mono in same instrument

A trick I use often on my hardware sampler and also the wonderfull cyclone vst is the combination of a poly + mono sintrument .
For that I sample 2 keys per octave(c,f#) , for 4 octaves ,set that voice group to poly , duplicate the voice group but set to mono and 1 octave up plus some glide ( 22-33ms) .
So both are controlled from the same instrument , yu can play chords and at the same time you have this note played an octave higher + glide …a really nice effect .
In renoise there is just no possibility to do this in the same instrument , it’s either poly or mono ,so we need to duplicate the instrument , set it to mono and also duplicate the part .
But , then there is still the issue of controlling-playing both instruments at the same time .

You could split the poly and mono pieces between sample based for one, and vst based for the other. Renoise can have instruments that contain both in one. Easy peasy, I think. Haven’t tested yet, tho.
The trick would be getting the same timbre between parts, but perhaps it only needs to be “in the ballpark”

We 're talking sample based only here , not a combi of sample + vst .
Bottom line is that’s it’s currently not possible

Does Gx not do the trick?

Seems to work fine over here… But i suppose you’re after a playable solution…

It would be possible if phrases handled gx/gxx a little differently, but I think you may be correct

It would be great if we could trigger multiple instruments simultaneously via one midi input/keypress. Would the API allow for the crafting of such a tool? Anyone know?

INdeed I need a playable version
Renoise doesn’t even allow to trigger multiple instruments from a single midi plug (using different midi out channels) , so I don’t think the api allows it
