i’m still dont understand, how the sync record(pattern mode) works, if you start from zero.
For example : you has programmed a pattern with midi notes for a external synth and you wont to record him from zero on. You go to the sample editor, press view record panel, set the pattern mode. So, now you must press start and play at the same time or you wait a pattern long. But you like the first filter move of the synth, when he is staringt from zero. What can you do ? You must build a precount patten to make this possible.
It would be much comfortable, if the record wait until you press play ?
And what if you don’t wanna start the song… but start play pattern?
Or… you just wanna loop a pattern… play it a few times before you start song recording etc… I would not like that change I think… but then again I can just stop the song and start it again…
I would probably do the last action more times then the benefit from starting song play when pressing rec.
But I find neither way a big issue…
I’m not sure I understand exactly what you guys are talking about…
Just a “start playback when start recording”?
If this is so it would be better if it was optional, of course. As an additional button. You’d not always want to have playback when recording.
But what about a precount?
This could work so that the metronome would play (click) for a bar or two and then recording&playback would start.
BUT: then, the metronome would need to be configured by the user to work with all the crazy BPMs/speeds used in a tracker. I mean: I use a BPM of 180 and speed 4 to make the “real BPM of a song” 90 BPM.
So I’d set the metronome to click every 12 lines (that’s the lenght of a beat or 1/4th note in my song).
Because right now the metronome is useless to me. I can’t get oriented with it.
