I should be able to map a button on my MIDI controller to jump up one edit step or down one edit step. Currently, it’s not an option in MIDI mapping. I even tried using Bome’s, but apprently the “Up” keyboard message it sends gets to Renoise as “Num Pad 8/Up” (WTF?!).
Furthermore, why isn’t every command available in the Keyboard Shortcuts configuration not available to be mapped to MIDI? I may be missing something, but to me that seems like a no-brainer.
I’m just peeved that I’ve tried every option I can think of and haven’t been able to simply make pushing the rewind/forward transport buttons on my keyboard move up and down by edit steps.
It has ruined my idea for using my MIDI keyboard for non-realtime input. Yeah, I can still input notes in order, but now I have to go back to my qwerty keyboard to do anything other than input a note on the current line.
