PRip_d (Glitch Electronica)

Another track started but not finished. Gotten into the habit of making 1-2 minute tracks, my attention span just isn’t that great I suppose.

sounds excellent.
dont know how you did it, by resampling and reversing, glitchy retriggernig something.
sounds awesome…felt like the dirtiest bass from alien insect hell might drop in

As a noob in this wonderful Renoise world, I’m puzzled by the workflow that can generate such a beautiful result… I guess it’s a long and painstaking job of choosing samples/sounds, and carefully programming the effect chain (including Hydra, LFOs, Repetitors) and extensive use of phrases and conditional Y command… or at least that’s what I could figure out so far…

Yeah it just really came about from a series of sound design sessions. Nothing really painstaking about it, think it took about 2-3 days altogether. I wrote it while I was living in a garden shed on a farm in rural Australia believe or not haha

One day was spent just creating glitch sounds, the second day was spent arranging it into loads of different sequences and adding loads of parameters like randomised fx chains, randomised sample selections, randomised send tracks, signal follower trickery, sidechaining, stuff like that. Then I let it sit for a bit. Then on the third day I think I just did some song structure edits. I think at that point I figured I had majority of the track done and that I would just come back, finalise it, clean up the mix, and then master it. I had about 7 tracks on the the go at the time that I was gonna make into an EP so I was busy creating those to. Never did finish the EP off though, the whole thing is sitting on an external hard-drive like 60% done. I’m fucking useless at finishing anything anymore. After I’ve created 2-3 mins of a track either my attention span goes, I get lost in the writing process, or I start something new. Sadly this track was the victim of my laziness.

In my opinion the whole track needs way more high end and better mixing. It seems a little bit muddy listening back to it now.

ahahahahahha! hey man, thank you so much for your feedback, it’s so detailed and very revealing about your creative approach to composition. The track is really good to me, so don’t be so hard on yourself. ciao

Great track, mate. Excellent work
