Processed Amen

Im wondering if any of you know how to make this amen http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TuvEoNef-Eg it appears at 2.10 for the first time, ive heard venetian snares, doormouse, abelcain and xanopticon use this break in their songs but cant seem to find it anywhere, ive tried to process my own a few times and its been very close but just not quite right.

Have you tried cutting it out of the track?

i dont really want to do that tbh i would like to know how its done and make my own

Sounds like its been already toyed by some analogue stuff → sampled off a record where it was already processed.

You can find that amen here: btmon.com

thanks for the reply but im looking for this exact sound,im very used to processing the amen in all sorts of crazy ways but just this is bugging me because i cant get it right, ive gotten close by using two amens one processed a bit with some distortion and a lot of poke in the mids with 14k low passed the other squasehed to bits and low passed at about 5k with a low end preset.resample it and then maximise it with the l3 ultramaximiser, close but no cheese…

if thats in there i owe you one

Incase you mean the “chopped” amen, you should be able to accomplish that with the break33, by editing the ends of each hit…

i mean the amen thats squashed to bits, there all chopped.it first appears at 2.10 and plays for most of the outro

Incase you mean the “chopped” amen, you should be able to accomplish that with the break33, by editing the ends of the hits / using an envelope if you use 09XX…

…no problemos, hope this helps.

well break 33 isnt it,im talking about the huge bottom end fuzzy amen thats smashed to bits with a maximiser

Hmm, actually it sounds like there is a bass sound above the loop… the chopped Amen I mean, that buzz sounds like it comes from another instrument.

edit: …but you can never know… :) Sorry couldn’t help.

ye it could be alright, cant get it right though.thanks anyway, that little sample pack is nice anyways

I think you might be overcomplicating this, if you’re talking about the one I think you are, it just sounds like it’s pitched down and compressed like crazy.

Note that different compressors have different responses and ultramaximizer doesn’t necessarily have the kind of response you’re looking for. I can get that kind of sound from a 3630 (a very shitty hardware compressor) by turning the ratio way, way up and turning the threshold way way down. (Then using lots of gain to bring the level back up). Try using some different compressors.

I kinda think that one may have been on the jungle warfare cd.

its not,i have jungle warfare 1-3 cut up and saved as kits

i dont need help with making my own amen i got millions of em,im just purely looking for this sound.

God, I love that track. :) That’s the same amen that appears on the A-side of the same record, for better reference (Snares Man! - Clearance Bin). Dunno if I can, but I’m gonna try to recreate it. Wanna see if I can :)

thats the one alright,i just ripped guitar rig pro from the net,now im sure it was done with that, just scrolling tru the presets while an amen is running u get very similar sounds

Don’t think so…that track was done in 2001. (Guitar Rig came out in 2004.) :)

hmm maybe it was processed using a distortion pedal of some sort

Try putting your effect on it at the pitch the sample is orig then pitch it up, or find the pitch you want to use, pitch it up more, put the effect on then pitch down to the pitch you want.
