I think the new modulators (AM Sine, AM Tri…) in the instrument section are actually doing ring modulation. Am I wrong?
If you use a Wet amount of 1.000 (100%) you only get sidebands, and that’s what happens when you use ring modulation. Doing AM preserves the carrier: you can hear the carrier and the sidebands. You could achieve this using a lower Wet amount, nevertheless.
I’m not adding theory examples because it’s all out there in the internet.
If I am right, I suggest a name change from AM to RM.
