This is one thing that came into mind.
I think it would be supercool if there could be a selectable midi input & channel for any sample / instrument.
Just sequencing with Cubase SX 3 and I thought it would be nice to be able to use renoise as a sampler to tweak the sounds and edit the midinotes on the external sequencer.
Might be a part of the new xrni structure which is going to be restructured and expanded anyway.
Things like multilayering and sample pools and MIDI controls have passed the discussion. No doubt that assigning layers or samples to midi channels will be considerable.
