Windows: Bifilter is now freeware:

Cool, but 400mb? I see the installer comes with their synth Icarus 3 installed at the same time, is there a way to deselect icarus?

edit; nevermind, I took the chance and it is possible to only the select the bifilter.

Waves Free Plugin Pack

You know, the Waves free plugin packs always are time limited. Made the experience several times. Licenses expire mosly after new version updates of their whole plugin list. Then you have to pay for a new license if you wanna continue using these plugins, because the new released free packs will contain different plugins than before.

They have this in the current FAQ?

Yes, updates for the Free Plugin Pack are absolutely free—no extra fees. Updating this bundle will not require the Waves Update Plan.
You will always be able to install the latest available version of the Waves Free Plugin Pack for free by installing it via the Waves Central app.

That’s their standard FAQ text, but believe me, they will expire.
Just wait a year. Then the pack license suddenly is vanished without notification from your Waves account.

Maybe!

I’ll take the risk then, they can go in the high entropy sub folder.

I just add Waves programs to my deny list in my firewall once I’m done installing.

Whether purchased or free there’s no need for them to phone home whenever they choose. Same goes for all plugins and programs.

They even sometimes do this with purchased licenses. As end user, you don’t own the plugins. You only purchased the right for using them. And if they decide to delete your license, they can do it when they want. And that happens frequently with Waves. I was using purchased waves plugins for a bunch of years, but now i’m done with Waves and jumped to UA plugins. When you get free stuff there, then 100% for lifetime. And their stuff is way better than Waves.

New ringmode sidechain

Very interesting, thanks for the info!
I love Kilohearts plugins

Sadly this thing seems to always introduce a breathtaking 10ms of latency, even after I set attack/release to 0. Makes it unusable for me at least.

This one might be better:

I think this is a gap in renoise. If you look at the work of the native compressor in sidechain mode, this delay is permanently present. Or I’m doing something wrong

Upd

I checked with the original native Renoise compressor. I’m wrong.
