Removing silence from multiple samples?

What program you guys use to strip silence from multiple wavs?

I am talking about tons of samples, so manually is not really an option. (Well is it an option but not preferable one.)

I tried to google some but all i got was some buggy old programs.

Maybe this tool can help out for what you want?

I use audacity for this. Just go File>Edit Chains, create a chain that removes the silence, and then apply the chain to the samples.

btw if i want to rise a treshold to 0.5% is this a right command? i really don’t know what i am doing…

sox @in @out silence 1 0.5 0.5% reverse silence 1 0.5 0.5% reverse

Now i realised that even default preset does not do anything to samples… hmm.
