Render selection to sample/FX/group track

Hello - first post here. I’m very new to Renoise, although my first computer music making was on an Amiga with OctaMED, so kind of rediscovering the tracker way of life after a very long absence. And I’m loving it.

Sorry if this seems a silly question. I could probably answer it with some experimentation but I’m away from my computer for a few days, and I just need to know the answer!

Let’s say I have three tracks of drums, which are sent to a group track, and the group track has some track effects on it. If I make a selection from the three drum tracks - but NOT the group track - and render to sample, is the sample rendered PRE- the effects on the group track?

The group’s DSP chain will not be applied to the render, but any pattern commands in the group track will still be applied.
