► Renoise 2.6 Beta Testing Starts

oh yeah and big up for making this G5 PPC compatible … yes there still are people out there whos computers are old but still capable of making beats…
seems recently everything i own i cannot upgrade due to everyone dropping their support for G5 PPC equipped macs… all NI plugs are intel only now, logic pro, reason 5 etc. i know it has to happen sooner or later, and it doesnt really matter anyway, as it still all works and i can still make beats… but its nice to see that i can continue to use the latest renoise yay!

I AGREE WITH YOU!!

…well, it’s true! ^_^

I am new to renoise, I used the demo 2.5 for about a month and right now I am using the 2.6 beta version… I really like the autoseek feature, that´s what irritated me in the older version ^^

BTW, when is this coming to Windows?

one day …

is it me or is renoise eating more memory since v2.1 ?

Not noticed but suspect b6 might over b5 and all earlier due to the new 64bit processing done in parts of the signal path (DSP processing.)

2.5 definitely took less processor (CPU cycles) than 2.1, not sure about RAM.

i agree. ppc support is crucial to me right now.

Embedding automap support currently seems far from interesting to implement. It is only a Novation technique and only works on Novation material.
The only thing that would be reached with this support, is the allowance to gain control to a few extra top buttons that you can’t reach through the Duplex script. But Danoise here can give the best details on this.
If their automap technique would be more generic embraced, it would also be more interesting to natively embed. But currently even OSC is a better supported message standard.

ppc support +1
