^^ Aren’t you going a bit too far now, Conner_Bw? I knew you were capable of doing some really nasty things, but… hacking into taktik’s forum account? Come on! You don’t fool us anymore.
Seriously though, that’s an elegant way of saying it’s getting close to beta release time (implicit in “would end this thread… much too quickly”).
Renoise is like a musical instrument though, and the whole program is so weird. Has many deep, deep secrets, and mysteries. So, take your time, and experience it all.
why not skipping to 27 directly? iOS is already at 6, Windows at 8, Firefox at 22 and Chrome at 26. Heading to 27 will surely give a marketing boost to Renoise! 27 is also the number of Ferrari main car in F1 racing, so you can only imagine how many great slogans you could invent!
oh and of course we should adopt the Chrome way of version naming from now on.
I’d say it would be much better if Renoise was actually down-numbered to something like 0.3b. Then people would think “wow, if Renoise is this great at version 0.3, just imagine what it will become at version 1.0!”
And me in the future I wanna get new Renoise versions with “negative” release numbers, with progressively removed features, and for example, Renoise -28, would do nuthin anymore.
Let the version number be a randomize function. Randomized version number every time renoise ia started and also which features available should be randomized.
Perhaps rename it to just Noise 1.0, and change all the modules so they are only generating noise… this will force our creativity to go beyond limits.
And why to increase version numbers anyway? Why not to lower the numbers and begin to cut the features away? It would be simpler and faster than adding anything new…
