Love the sound of tuned filterbanks! Ambient music from the inside! All Renoise with the help of Michael Norris’ Spectral Filter Audio Units.
So cool! Wish I could get those plugs in a Windows environment.
The track title itself is funny, I used to do that as a kid. I wear glasses now! Always wonder if that had anything to do with it.
Thank you very much! Yeah, I still do that sometimes, it feels good to zone out for a minute or two. I wonder, is there a filterbank plugin for Windows? I took a short look, but didn’t find one.
One thing you can do is use Audacity and download the Nyquist plugins called “harmonic noise” and “narrowband noise”. Make samples from those and if you’re good at trimming them, and adding some extra noise samples to loop with them, you’ll get really close. It’s not as adjustable, but it’s a workaround.
Also, I’d take a look around for free spectral VSTs to see if there isn’t something like that already. Good luck, and thanks for the kind words!
