I started making music on trackers on the Amiga500 two thousand years ago, and shifted to Renoise as soon as it was born.
I just want to say thank you to the Renoise team for making it possible for me to keep making music the way I want to. Because of this, I have had a more successful musical career than I couldn’t even have dreamt of back then.
To this day I am still touring, still giving out music (both on vinyl and digital), and still expressing myself the best way I can - and Renoise makes it all possible for me.
Yes, I would also like to thank the late Arguru, Who if had not open-sourced NoiseTrekker 2 then there might not have been a Noisetrekker3 thus no Renoise at all… Can’t even imagine the trackers that would be around if he had not passed way back in 2007… Thanks to VanJac the Aodix fork quite rocks now>>>
Arguru was a very talented, intelligent, and nice guy who provided the world with a lot of great, free music software. On the other hand, he had many ideas and probably got bored of his old projects quickly. As a result, his software was often quite buggy and lacked certain features. It was only when Taktik turned it into Renoise that it became a solid DAW. That’s what I remember. Arguru also sometimes came into the Buzz-Tracker IRC and it was fun then. I don’t remember exactly if he used Buzz like me… Ah yes he also coded a lot of base plugins for Buzz. Later Haldreamer took over everything, and binary-patched Buzz, after Jeskola lost their sources or something. That was weird!
