Renoise Benchmark (pc)

If I want to test a graphics card there are dedicated benchmark tools/software for that.

But how does one benchmark Renoise performance on a specific computer?

Does anyone have a “benchmark” .xrns file for me to download and test with? I just need something for a reference, and some comparative values for other computer systems.

Here’s the basic system spec for the computer I’m interested in testing:

CPU: Intel i7 920 @2.66 GHz (not overclocked yet)
MOBO: Asus P6T Deluxe V2
RAM: 3x1 GB (Corsair Dominator, capable of running @1600 MHz in OC)
GFX: XFX Geforce 275GTX 896MB
Sound: M-Audio Delta 1010LT
OS: WinXP Home, SP3, 32-bit

Thanks for any help!

For musicmaking, you should check the memory speed(to load songs and store songs in memory), hard drive speed(read and write files) and the most important is the cpu(for all the music rendring).

read up this thread and compare your results

The links for the .rns files are broken, probably since that thread is from 2005. I’d like to have something more up to date.

Maybe keith303 has something up his sleeve here? It would be interesting to find out how well a non-OC’d i7 performs against his overclocked system.

argh, sorry… well, then you could create your own benchmark thread: choose a song or create a test song and let others compare your results with theirs
