I’ve been a long time Renoise user, and have always been frustrated that I can’t produce music that’s as good as other people produce. I kind of felt like I was beating a dead horse continuing with Renoise and decided to try some other software.
I tried out the demo of Reason, and a friend had a copy of Fruity Loops. I gave both of these guys a thorough. Long story short, I’m sticking with Renoise. I got really frustrated using these programs. I mean, at first they are great (I do like Piano Rolls). But when I tried to really get into a song I found a lot of things I could do easily in Renoise, that I could not do in these programs.
There are many great things about Renoise. But the really great thing about Renoise is how deep you can manipulate any factor of the song and how easy it is to do.
I was totally impressed. As I said in the post, what won me over was the video intro, and the fact it worked right out of the box (I use Ubuntu 7.10, linux-rt, and JACK).
In fact, I’m off the i-net now to learn some Renoise magic.
Without Renoise, i wasn’t “DJ TerraByte” anymore after Impulse Tracker and i would have quitted writing songs.
Now i’m alive and kicking, bought a license myself and one for my friend.
Still im searching the paypal-donate button on the site
