Hi everyone. I know thank you’s have been said before on these forums but I just wanted to give a personal message to the Renoise team.
Seriously, thank you so much for keeping the tracker alive and for implementing the modern features of a DAW into it.
I might be a bit older than some folk on here and for me a tracker has always been the way to go for EDM production. I’m one of those guys that’s been into it since the inception of Sound Tracker on the Amiga and I was hooked from the start.
I’ve never ever managed to gel with other DAWS like I do with trackers and especially Renoise. Even back in the 80’s and 90’s, I never managed to gel with Cubase on an Atari ST like I did with trackers and it’s the same now with other modern DAWS. It just doesn’t work for me. The tracker interface just fits my brain like a glove.
With Renoise version 3.5 I’ve really noticed the improvements. I love the new instrument automation and how you can now just click on any VST parameter and it goes straight into Renoise like a native effect parameter. I’ve also noticed (on my computer at least) a dramatic improvement in the timing of the live note recording from the PC keyboard. This has come in very handy as you can now get your ideas down quicker and more accurately than before. Thank you so much to the team.
I also wanted to say a personal thank you to the person who wrote the “Simple Piano Roll” tool.
I’ve noticed that the concept of piano rolls is a little bit sensitive on these forums but this tool has opened a whole new chapter in Renoise for me. I tried the tool a while back and it was buggy and not that useful back then, but after installing the latest version of the tool on Renoise 3.5 all I can say to the programmer is that I owe you big time for creating this tool. The tool just works and is a lot easier to use and less fiddly than on the times that I’ve tried using piano rolls on FL Studio or Ableton. It does actually work, and simply, quickly and cleanly. I can really get chord progressions into Renoise now with ease.
So a very, very, very big thank you to the Team. Thank you for this amazing software and thank you for the best DAW out there.
