I installed renoise on a new laptop and whenever it’s launched it automatically chooses a random bpm , lpb is always 4

Yep, this is normal. Until one determines the ‘template’ file they’d like to associate with Renoise, it just pops up random tempi.

It has done this since forever…
It was intended to inspire you to experiment with some new tempos now and then.
Definitely not a bug… and only takes a few seconds to fix if you don’t like it

Been using a template for so long, I never noticed.
Definitely sparks creativity to work at unusual tempos

o.k. makes sense, since I always had a template set up in the past
I’ve been a Renoise-User for over 20 years now and I’ve never ever noticed that.
