I have…what are you wondering at ?
I’ve bought one about 2 years ago, and NEVER used it. I was going to sell it until something in the back of me head told me to just put it away. Now it’s back as part of my set up, and I’m finally getting to grips with it. It’s actually pretty sweet addition honestly. The pads are a bit hard compared to the MPC pads. It’s great for triggering samples and vst’s though.
my 2 gripes…
The midi messages. It seems (on mine at least) that the all the messages programmed are actually one octave lower (i.e. the C-3 midi message is actually C-2. D-5 is actually D-4 etc…). This erks the hell out of me since I have to go back and manually set everything thing one by one.
I think this is just a timing issue, but sometimes, when I record in Renoise, there is always these delays, or Renoise doesn’t capture what I’ve programmed. So I have to go back and re-edit things often. I know J Swift posted about midi timing issues before, and I think I can say that I see what he means. I’m noticing this more myself since I’m using more hardware and midi controllers these days.
So far so good though. The editor that comes with the pad control is pretty sweet.
crytek, i got something you should check out. i’m working on a max/msp patch right now that easily lets you switch transposition and octaves like little 25 key midi controllers. you just turn the two knobs and you have direct control of the full midi octave/transposition range.
