Restoring .xrns File Association

hello. i have renoise 1.9.1 on my pc laptop. for some strange reason my .xrns files have stopped opening automatically with renoise when i double click on them. if i right click and go to “open with…” it brings up the list of programs as per usual, but renoise isnt on this list. this is making it difficult to restore the correct file association. is there a way of getting renoise to appear in this list of programs?
as i mentioned its a minor prob as ive just been dragging the file onto the renoise shortcut on my desktop, or just opening the song files from within renoise, but id like it to go back to the way it was before…

  • Shift + Right-click on any .XRNS file and choose “Open With” from the menu.
  • Select the “Choose Program…” option and a new dialog box will appear.
  • Hit the “Browse” button near the bottom of the dialog box.
  • Navigate to your Renoise installation directory and choose the Renoise.exe file.
  • Enable the checkbox “Always use the selected program to open this kind of file”.
  • Hit the “OK” button.

Now it should be restored.

.

to get the renoise icon to appear in the menu i had to rename the renoise program file (just added .exe to the end of it). that sorted it.
thanks for the reply :)
