Hi I think I understand the concept of ticks but if I have 12 ticks per line and use R05 shouldn’t that retrigger just play twice instead of three times? 5 only fits fully into 12 a total of two times but the note plays 3 times. So the initial note plays, then the note is retriggered 3 times. I am confused why it is retriggering 3 times instead of just twice.
The second number does not represent how many times something gets retriggered. It represents the interval in ticks that a sound will be retriggered, smaller values result in narrower intervals and fast triggers, higher values result in wider intervals and slow triggers, 0 plays the default TPL.
The number of triggers actually depends on the length of the sample and the length of the note.
Ah ok I think that explains it. So R05 is retriggering on the 0 tick, 5 tick, and the 10 tick?
R06 would trigger on the 0 tick, and 6 tick
R09 would trigger on the 0 tick, and 9 tick.
Is that basically how it works?
Yep, therefore R01
will trigger at every tick - I think that’s technically correct.
