now, to resurrect this thread, which was supposed to be about EQ Envelope Artwork, and discusses a reversed approach to soundsculpting, namely envelope-sculpting (read the original post).
on this subject, i’d like to give you the following 2.7b update:
- the new dots on the envelope can become eyes, holes, moons, stars, or maybe even basketballs.
- instead of the sliders, you can now draw you envelope artwork by using the dots. pretty cool, very alternative. but personally i’d rather use the sliders/numbers (of which the latter, by the way, should be made automatable. you could maybe even do animation then. how sick would that be, creating an animation of the EQ Envelope over a bunch of patterns, making insane moving drawings and then suddenly listening to the sound again and realizing it is genius - damn we need this)
- the new Phasemeter (the potential colors of which is covered in this thread) makes instant psychedelic animations, in sync with your music. so try and make a entheogenic pulse on your Phasemeter and suddenly realize the music that infuses this pulse is just as goddamn brilliant as your Phasemeter hallucinations.
i sure hope more people will join me in my philosophy, i might even start a church, a proper church, with required payment and brainwashing machines and paranoia goonsquads and little boys sucking old dudes’ Johnsons.
