[???] ReWire: Ableton Live 9 not recognizing Renoise 3.1 as Slave

Howdy all,

Title says it all really.

After opening Ableton Live 9 and then Renoise, renoise just opens as standalone, and it is not recognized as a slave.

Stable 3.0 works as Slave.

Try to recreate, somebody?

Thanks for the memories!

Hello Sahda.

Is this on Windows or OSX?
Are both, Ableton Live and Renoise 32 bit apps or 64 bit apps? You can’t run a 32bit slave in a 64 master. Maybe that’s the problem?

Hey hey!

Sorry for the lack of details regarding my OS!

I’m running Mac osx 10.68.

Renoise 3.0 works fine as a slave. It is the most recent 3.1 Beta that is not recognized as the slave.

My expected result is that I will open Ableton Live 9 Suite (64 bit) first, as the master;

followed by opening Renoise 3.1 as the slave via ReWire.

actual result: Renoise opens as normal.

Is Renoise 64bit too? Both applications must be 32 or 64 bit in order to make ReWire work.

You also need to start Renoise at least once before Live and let it install ReWire. It will ask for your password in order to do so.

If this is not the problem, could you attach your Renoise.log file here please? You’ll find it in Renoise by clicking the “Help” -> “Show Log File…” menu.
