the sample editor really needs an option to mark the beginning (and end) of the sample instead of having to trim multiple pieces of the sample. so many samplers support the selection where the sample should start. something like the sample offset command in the pattern editor - just as a global (automatable) marker for the specific sample in the sample editor.

I had to hack the phrases for one of my tools to do this for the offset value box in the bottom right. Might have some use in the meantime to get in the ballpark for one-shots. You do not need to enable the envelope part of the tool to use the offset valuebox:

Looks good but i cant install it on linux via drag n drop. I will try extract it manually tomorrow. Offset setting make this tool more interesting.
