This is a bit far-fetched, but I just wanted to point out that if you could build a sample (“chip-sample”) the same way you now can do envelopes, this would be a ridiculously powerful “chip”-synth. It would be similar to Musicline Editor on the Amiga, which chipsynthesis hasn’t been beaten by any software to this date.
