Couldn’t find a topic on this, sorry if it’s a common discussion, but…
basically i’d love to be able to do this in Renoise:
does anyone know if there’s a tool that achieves something similar in the sample editing view on renoise? or if it’s a thing for an upcoming renoise release?
also, i feel like time stretching options besides pitch (texture and drums) are a bit weak currently, i always struggle with those 2 algorithms.
didn’t look at the youtube video, but you can also set an amount of lines to sync a sample to in the sample properties. There are 3 modes of syncing the sample with 2 being timestretch similar to what rubberband offers afaik;
i don’t know if i made myself clear, but i dont mean just stretching a sample to a given duration since i know this is already totally possible (although the two renoise sample stretching methods never work that well for me)
i’m talking about real quantization, where you can chop and align a long sample (lets say a guitar playing layer of 2 minutes) to the grid in a few clicks, using formants and stuff and automatically aligning the strums of the guitar to the beat. what i want is way more powerful than what renoise currently offers, and is not just sample stretching, its quantization
but watching the video it’s timestreching as well, quantization alone over a longer period for example would leave gaps, which doesn’t seems to be the case in his video
