Especially I’m interesting how much space have on a 27" QWHD (2K) with different scaling factor. Pretty sure that with 100% this will be too small for me.
If possible please post the same view with spectrum analyzer closed and line 00 at the top.
Thanks! How many lines do you see when you put the pattern on the top? This doesn’t seem to be an improvement compared to a 1920 x 1080 monitor when you sit closer to it.
Here it is with the pattern at the top. Overall, it’s less lines than you’re currently getting. I don’t know your setup, if I could tolerate 125% scaling I would as it makes more use of the screen real estate - however, even with glasses, any smaller and I get eye strain but that’s one, my age (41) and two my susceptibility to migraines and living with chronic pain - so I do what I can to minimise risk of pain. Hope that helps?
Edit: just tried at 125% and (a) I can’t see it well enough and (b) Windows UI integer scaling is shit, the text goes pretty blurry overall - I think you’re on Linux, so perhaps that handles UI Integer Scaling better?
I think scaling is even worse on Linux, especially on x11. This will improve in Wayland. I’m 48 (arggh!) and just got new classes for computer work. I think with 125% I will win a little bit real estate but that’s not a dramatic effect.
Ah, the X11 vs Wayland issues continue I see - Wayland always feels like it’s just around the corner to fixing everything lol. That said, I do keep looking at Linux but I’ve invested too much in proprietary VSTs and the thought of needing to use Wine and so on just puts me off. Hope you get what you want. I’d honestly look at 4K unless you’re also gaming and can’t run at 4K. Integer scaling is way easier, there are some decent deals on 32 inch 60Hz monitors and you would get a lot more real estate.
