I’m not able to type a ~ inside the scripting editor in renoise (on windows 10). Probably due to swedish keyboard layout? I can do it the hard way ( pressing alt and typing 0126 on the numpad ) so it’s not a major issue.
The normal way to type a tilde, for me, is alt.gr (or ctrl+alt) and the key south west of backspace, then pressing space. See picture below.
I´ve always been using an initial zero in front for some reason, but it works as you say! Do not need the zero. It must be for personal historical reasons (web development round about year 2000). typing alt + 0171 creates a: « but alt + 171 creates a: ½
Tilde on spanish keyboard seems to be possible with:
Yes, there are several ways that do work (numpad, on-screen keyboard, copy paste etc.), but since the ~ is quite commonly used when writing if statements (not equals is written as ~= )
it would be nice if it was possible to type it using the key on the keyboard with the character on top of it, just as i do with any other character on my keyboard in applications susch as visual studio, notepad, textpad, notepad++, web-browser address field, word, excel etc.
