or is it the other way around… idk im noob (embeds are taking up all my screen sorry for bad formatting)
signalizer Release 0.4.3 x64 with the Signalizer.dll renamed to .vst3
kilohearts compactor from the kilohearts free fx bundle
how to reproduce:
sidechain track 1 into track 2’s compactor after enabling sidechain in compactor
then add signalizer and open the External Editor
(edit: for it to noticable like in the video set attack and release to 0ms in compactor)
(not to be the guy who thinks he knows things but i think this is buffer related…)
Maybe “signalizer” cause latency that needs to be compensated for? That could be the reason. If, for example, wrong values are being reported, the latency compensation cant working correctly.
I think that this is the cause of the problem, too. Already had a quite ocmplex template song, which reports the latency in the sidechains in a wrong way.
compactor is a very precise sidechain ducking plugin, claims to operate on a per-sample level
the issue is how the plugins interact with each other (distortion) and renoise as a weird delay is present even after removing signalizer and only goes away after saving and reloading the project
its just weird how a visualization plugin can affect sound in any way, doesn’t affect my ability to make music in any way (i can just render to sample if i really have to monitor something compactor related)
thought i would make a bug report in case someone else finds this interesting
