Soft Clipping Plugin

Hi!

Can anyone suggest a (preferably freeware) soft-clipping plugin, if such a thing exists? I want to experiment with one as an alternative tool to a compressor, or more precisely, a way of smoothing peaks without having to fuss over the controls of a compressor…

You didn’t mention which system you’re using, but GClip is quite nice if you’re on Windows.

(Don’t forget: there’s also a built in soft clipping function on Renoise’s master track)

For the Mac users, Airwindows Channel (or Channel2). Technically it does a little more than just soft clipping, but it’s great for just the scenario you describe,
