[Solved] Installing Renoise On Fedora 15 (No Sound)

Hello.

I installed the demo version of Renoise to see if I can get it working in Fedora 15 and although the GUI works I can’t get any sound out of it. I installed Jack and had it running whilst starting Renoise but still no sound. I’ll post the log from the terminal below:

Any ideas?
Thanks.

Are here any specific outputs that you can set on the master track? Or perhaps the output reference set in Jack? It might perhaps also be a simple matter of shifting the volume controller in the Alsa mixer for the specific channelset that Jack is sending audio to.
These are just a few suggestions you can look into, there are perhaps a few other tricks (others may fill in the gaps here).

Doesn’t look like it’s successfully creating either a RT or a FIFO thread for audio:

Do any other Jack enabled programs work? Do you get the same if running with basic ALSA?

EDIT: For F14 and I believe F15 too you will want to add yourself to User Group “jackuser” which I believe should give you access to RT threads and enable Jack to function correctly with your login.

Update: It all works out of the box now. I’ve upgraded to Fedora 16. Thanks for all your help guys.
