[Solved] Maschine (As A Plugin) And Battery 3 Problems With Audio.

I cannot for the life of me figure out how to hear Maschine or Battery when they are opened in Renoise. I can drag audio from Maschine into an instrument slot but I can’t hear what it is first. Both Maschine and Battery show that there is sound and MIDI when i play them, but no audio to Renoise. Is there something I’m missing or doing wrong? Thank you!

Hi…

What version number Renoise? Full or demo? What version battery? Machine version?

Mac or pc? System spec? Audio card? Driver?

Cheers

Most recent version of everything, Macbook Pro 2011(Processor Speed 2.3 GHz Memory: 4 GB), Native Instruments Komplete Audio 6. Every other bit of Komplete 8 works fine except these two things. Battery and Maschine both work fine in standalone too. Thanks!

dont have mac to hand now.

osx at 10.8?! -> just in case: (at the bottom) http://www.native-instruments.com/en/support/online-help/compatibility/mac-os-x-compatibility/

iirc maschine is at version 1.8 now (1.6 brought 64 bit comp.)

is your renoise 64bit? -> battery or maschine bridged?! -> try native 64 bit version of plugs

vst or au version (tried both)?

i dont think thats it but:
http://tutorials.renoise.com/wiki/Instrument_Settings (scroll down to “plugin routing”)
maybe maschine is multi- timbral and you have to switch the default channel

My bad I have…10.6.8. Maschine is still at 1.7 until October I believe.
I can use Maschine as an effect but not as an instrument.
For some reason, it only shows the AU version of all the plugins. I swear I installed both with Komplete. Renoise is 64 bit.
Thank you guys for your help and patience.

Also try to !disable! the “AutoSuspend plugin” option (see http://tutorials.renoise.com/wiki/Instrument_Settings#Plugin_Compatibility_Settings) for Battery and Machine. This should be disabled by default for both plugins though.

This would also be my guess. We’ve had a few people in the past saying that they couldn’t hear any sound from Battery and other similar plugins, and in those cases it turned out to be a routing issue.

For example: this thread.

Most likely you need to activate an audio output in the plugin and then have a look at this section of the Renoise manual:
http://tutorials.renoise.com/wiki/Instrument_Settings#Plugin_Routing

Success with Battery! Thank you all! I’m still trying everything to figure out Maschine though. Once I figure this out, they are going to be best friends, possibly lovers.
