Something From Nothing

Hey all !

Some of you probably remember the way to perform a native monophonic synthesis in Renoise.

It requires a null sample, a positive DC Offset, a keytracker, a customized LFO device, and a ring modulator.

I’m exploring another method today.

DOWNLOAD HERE this very short 4 tracks [2.7.2] compatible .xrns song featuring :

 • a lofi drum kick
 • claps
 • 2 clean guitars with glide effects

AND :

 • no samples (really empty)
 • no instruments (at all)
 • no pattern notes at all
 • input line volume : -INF
 • and no ringmod :panic:

If you want to stop sounds completely, please click twice on the STOP button.
Since this alternative native synthesis method requires a VERY HIGH pattern definition,
PLEASE DISABLE AUTOMATIC PLUGIN DELAY COMPENSATION to decrease CPU usage.

Thanx and
have fun with Renoise
!

Well, thats one way to crash my computer, lol.

lol

maybe we should move the topic to Help Support & Bugs, then ? ^_^

Where was your entry for the last Dead Dog Compo? This has come a little late :P

too late, I’ve wasted all my lifetime on cityville

Nice1 Kurtz!

Really cool! Makes my CPU run at about 70%, haha. I guess it could be a good benchmark song.

A while back I asked for the option to run LFOs at faster speeds than 1 beat per line so doing things like this wouldn’t require super fast LPBs. I still think this would be cool (hint hint, renoise devs ;))
