Spectrum hover notes off by one octave?

It looks like 440 Hz is labeled as A5but I think this is off by one, and it should be A4 I’m using version 3.0.1 Final. I’m including a screen shot.

Related to the topic, it would be useful for tuning samples if a vertical line could be optionally displayed on the spectrum graph for the currently active note.

You are right, but it seems its not only the spectrum analyzer. The whole note labeling in renoise is off by one octave. So the analyzer shows the “correct” note for renoise.

Also a small feature wish for me: Add cents!

I was using the_Chip - Sine_ instrument from the_Elements_ folder to test. That instrument’s A4is at 440 Hz. I’ve tested some of the other included instruments that have A5at 440 Hz, so I don’t know which is right.

There is no standart, it should be A, but it can be a1, a2, a3, a4 or a5… it really doesnt matter.

renoise starts at 0

not 1

because programming

therefore c3

Sounds plausible, but if that were the explanation wouldn’t it be off by one in the other direction?

I’m thinking now that if there’s a real explanation it’s probably some historical tracker thing.

^ No, 440hz in renoise is A5, everything is correct

0 13.75

1 27.5

2 55

3 110

4 220

5 440

c3 was a typo on my end, I meant to say c5
