I have a speed problem with an older song. It is set to 98 BPM and 4 SPD. Nevertheless, it plays faster than if I create a new song and set the same speed parameters. What is the reason for this?
I deleted all instruments and patterns from the Renoise file as a test and the speed problem still persists. I am attaching the file with the deleted data. Maybe you can help me!

If you’re not using an ancient first gen Renoise version, there’s LPB instead of SPD if you’re creating a new song. SPD 4 plays faster than LPB 4 and LPB 4 is most likely the same as SPD 6. SPD 4 should be something like LPB 6 or 7 or something in between. Check the difference:

I didn’t even notice the two label differences and it can actually be solved with the following conversion:
Menu: Song / Song Options => Compatibility => Upgrade to latest version
