Stop and edit shortcut?

Hi guys,

I feel a little embarrassed for asking but is there a stop play and edit shortcut?

I have been used to use double click on space with FT2 shortcut to stop and edit but getting really tired of not being able to just stop and edit with one click.

* I use right-shift and right-CTRL to play pattern/song and would like Space to stop and go straight into edit mode

I also have something pretty neat in Paketti, it’s called “Toggle Audition Current Line on Pattern Row Change”.

How this works is:
You’re playing the song, and follow pattern is set to ON. you press the shortcut. Playback stops. Follow Pattern is off. The position where the Playback was stopped, is stored. You can now start editing in notes, and everytime you change a row, the row contents (for every track) are played. Then you keep putting in new notes and when you’re happy, you press the shortcut again - and playback + Follow Pattern resumes from the Stored Row.

Awesome, I’ve modified it a little with if/else so it toggles edit mode afterwards, but yeah that’s really nice. Thanks a bunch!

    song.transport.edit_mode = true 
  else 
    song.transport.edit_mode = false

just for fun, if you want to make it shorter you can do:

  if (song.transport.playing) then
    song.transport.playing = false
    song.transport.edit_mode = true
  else
    song.transport.edit_mode = not song.transport.edit_mode
  end
