This is a sad year for breakcore … Sublight Records announced it was shutting down in June… I just found out… and on a side note, I just realized when I looked at the wikipedia article I went to highschool with the label’s founder, Aaron Rintoul … I saw him performing some industrial ditties one day… I think he did a Nine Inch Nail cover or two… little did I know what he would go on to do!
So yes… RIP Sublight … I hope this hasn’t impacted the label’s artists too much
old news & yeah sad, but imo the label released to much in a to short time period + quality control could be a lot tighter. I think some of the ‘better’ acts will be released through mu. rip
I personally liked alot of the acts on Sublight… which is more than I can say for alot of other labels. Labels like Metropolis (who release almost any industrial act that’s willing to tour… and quite a few that don’t) have alot worse quality control.
