If you make a theme with “Body Back” set to black then devices in the Device Chain kinda disappear in black.
I like how it works by default where Renoise automatically sets the coloring but would be nice if you could turn off this feature and make the colors yourself.
Well, this black body back theme reveal some large black margins and/or splitter lines, so how about following:
Splitter Lines are sensefully at general, because it gives structur and showing the “Split” control functionallity.
But what would be good for better eye and theme ergonomics, would if the seperator lines around the track color bar in Pattern and Matrixview, that switch automatically from black to grey with the choosen theme color brighness, can be set for manual switching, or at least let it switch something later. In some dark Themes it switched to early from black to grey, when you lowering the brightness. Only my unimportant meaning…

Well the particular two splitter lines I mention on the edit/mix pages are really just clutter as it’s obvious where what belongs IMO, that’s also why I left the splitter line to the right of the pattern because that makes more sense despite I would remove it too.
I’m just having some fun here, hopefully we’ll have a Renoise 4 some day with ultra sleek design . Here’s another piece where I remove more space/pixels:
The buttons on the right-hand side need to be put inside too somehow, if you think hard about it then they must go as they simply take up too much real estate/space too.
