OK, this is my first ever post on the Renoise community forums, so a bit about myself:
I have been doing music since 2002 under the name of Synthetik FM. My style is 80’s inspired synthpop, and I do my music with the help of talented vocalists from around the world. I currently have an album called “e=mc²” up on iTunes, but since that album was recorded, I have discovered the wonders of Renoise, and have been working a lot of new material in it.
In regards to Renoise: It gets used as a composition tool, where I can work up basic song ideas, then take it to my studio where I can add in my actual hardware synths. It’s really cool that way.
I also do my music mostly without using samples, or drum machines. 99% of what you hear is created by a synthesizer, be it VST or hardware. Just my attempt to instill a DIY ethic into my music.
Anyway, thought I would introduce you to my latest project: I decided to do a remake of the Space: 1999 theme … this was an excellent 70’s sci fi series of course!
I tracked this song in Renoise, using the DiscoDSP Phantom, Tone2 Firebird, Hahaha cs-33, DiscoDSP Highlife, and Arturia Jupiter 8v VST’s, plus a Yamaha DX-100, Kawai K1-II, Korg Poly-800 II, and Yamaha PSS 470 for the actual hardware.
If you really wanna get technical, here is a blog post detailing all the intricate details: http://synthpopalooza.livejournal.com/1105.html
That’s it … hope to post much more info in here soon. />/>
