Tech Step commencing

I think I am going to make a Tech Step track.

Some comments before. I think it would be better to have an 18dB filter only, to simplify things. (One does not need confusion in choice here.) Also the old school hex command input, should be replaced by automation curves. A general tightening up of the tracker interface possibly. Not so many Oscilloscopes, two (stereo) is enough.

Tech Step also is a tightening up of Trance. One grew tired of phasey trackeq+mastereq+multiband sound a long time ago. This tries for a subband saturation only, over Low ratio compression if any, to clip sound.

Anyone else into Tech Step?

No Other?

Was a bit boring sitting with this again. But I am going to try and finish the track.,

I always thought ā€œSceneā€ being something again, was a bit of an odd inspiration.

I“m going to have to look at this later.

Just listen to the best tracks of this genre thru good headphones and DAC…

Will be more clear for you

I do have that actually. Just bought it, for trying this again. RME ADI-2. Seems quite good.

Lower price…Same sound quality

SMSL,Topping,Fiio…
For less than 200 bucks

One can understand the Bi angle on this.

Wide,tall

More seriously,take also a look at ā€˜VITAL’ vsti…Or ā€˜Surge XT’

ā€˜VCV rack’

I“ve tried some of these really.

To be quite honest I was looking for a simpler ā€œto-the-pointā€ thing.

I actually have also used Logic Audio, it was extremely featured. Used it with 16channel digital mixing at the end of the 90s. Patchchords and modules with.

Its a bit of a return to the roots thing for me, trying tracking again. After all it was this is was about once.

There is no really standard setup

Now the software is so powerfull that you can do all with

Renoise can do the work using ā€˜SENDS’ (you can chain SENDS…And even make ā€˜tree’ of SENDS)…Good stereo effects can be done
One of the most important aspects is the width ,depth, movements

For movements, there is automations curves…And also LFOs , sample modulations

The only limit is your imagination…And also the inspiration you get from others tracks
This genre of music really push you to be creative on the mix

You have talked about ā€˜Trance’,so a ā€˜trance gate’ can be usefull
Maybe also an apeggiator

If you want a simpler workflow, use samples
