This interview goes into detail about how Trent produced PHM… down to tech specs and sample sources. Interesting fact: the “synth” melody at the end of Terrible Lie is actually a distorted woodblock sample that’s been pitched down 2 octaves

actually it was quite obvious when i first heard this song.
probably i distort and downpitch too much as well
