After 10 years of silence I finally managed to create something that I might as well finish. Not that during those 10 years I made 10000 tunes that I threw away, but from 10-15 I started in that time this one seems like it has (some) potential.
It is goa/psy-trance style track. No VST/VSTi-s were used, just samples + internal Renoise effects. I’ve cheated a bit, because to record it I used a plug-in placed in master track. Who knows, if the response is positive, I might be tempted to finally register…
What do you think of it (the tune, not the cheating )?
Listening to your track now. This is cool, I’ve not hear this style in a long while and it’s sounding fresh to my ears. If anything I’d get a little bolder and crazy with some effects to make it a little more experimental sounding, although the goa acid gets close enough to this.
Some mix issues, like the bass needing to be tightened, and hats needing to be LP filtered (maybe brought down a bit too). I reckon the acid could come forward a bit too.
Thanks for sharing! Don’t hesitate to put some more stuff up!
Thanks for the feedback - I appreciate it. I agree about the mixing / mastering issues, but keep in mind it was written on a laptop with cheap ear-plugs and nothing else. I’ve got some other people complaining about hi-hats, and I also agree about the bass. Will see if I can fix this.
