Edit: I think it’s because the bass is only at every second kick.
I’m of two minds of this. It works the way it is. But the track does feel a bit mushy to me. Like wading through a swamp. I’d be inclined to turn the kick down a notch or two,yes.
If you don’t mind me saying, I think that long lingering portemento melody line is awful. Both in terms of it’s sound and the actual melody. Think it would be better served with a few rests in there. That could re-spark my interest in it. But now it just meanders. Some more interesting sound design would help, too.
To but it another way, I feel the sound is too attention grabbing as it right now for this kind of melody. It could work as a quiet background element. Almost like a pad. Provided some more interesting stuff happens in the foreground. If it’s gonna take center stage like it does now, it needs to step up its game and actually have a story to tell. That’s how I feel about it anyway.
@ToybOx Other than my usual comment, that you should put out full tracks & albums already, I don’t have much to say about this track… save that it’s wonderful! It’s fast, violent and like TNT says, not harsh. So very well done. Listened to it 4 or 5 times now and it continues to flips my cookie.

No, the chord comes with the first one. The second and the fourth one are the weak ones. Like I said, every second kick. Yes, maybe it’s because of the synth bass. I don’t kinow, but I can clearly hear the weakness through speakers. Through headphones it’s not really audible, but the sound through speakers is the sound that’s crucial.

MBC is the opposite of what I’m usually doing, especially MBC 16. So no, I’ll skip. But I wouldn’t create Breakcore for sure, instead I would either go for heavy Techno or Electronic.
@lilith it might be a phase alignment issue where the bass and kick are weakening each other instead of reinforcing each other. you take a look on an oscilloscope to see if it’s a problem. A steep HP filter at a low frequency can shift phase, but you’ll likely need to get a visual on it to do a proper fix. If, in fact, that is the issue.
The multiband send also can shift phase (and cause phase dispersion - which is where the phases are shifted relative to their frequency. like a slight lazer zap) if you need it.
Again, an oscilloscope is very useful for phase alignment in the low end. it’s a big deal in psy production, but matters anytime you’re hoping to get your beats on a big system where a clean consistent low end is a priority
Oh, you can also try inverting the phase of your kick to see if it sums better with the bass. Sometimes that’s a quick and easy fix

Yeah, it’s definitely a good idea, depending on how clean you need your low end to be. The multiband send’s filters (and filters in general) can introduce pre (for linear phase eqs) or more typically post ringing, which can extend parts of the waveform past where you might want them to end. This can lead to muddy/smeary lows, or problems with transients in the kick, or phase alignment issues. An oscilloscope really helps to dial in those little details that can have a big impact on the sound as you scale up in the size of the sound system

I respect your decision to skip MBC16. I just want to go on record that I’d think with your skills you could make a great sounding track with just 1.4mb to work with.

The acid line. The cello sound is fine to my ears. The acid line really doesn’t work for me. But if it works for you, great! I mean that sincerely.
Do you hear that kick bass issue on the Genelec? I have the Neumann KH 120 and they should be very similar.

Thanks man! Maybe you would be surprised, but all my xrns files usually are smaller than 1,4 MB. The average value is around 1.2 MB in total. Which is another reason for using VSTs instead of samples…
Yes, but only slightly. But the Genelec studio monitors aren’t best for low end stuff, because they lack low ends. I might need to buy a subwoofer as well, or I sell them and grab the Genelec 8050 instead. It’s better to rely on the Onkyo speakers, they never let me down for 32 years now and I know that sound perfectly.
@Kaao I means this in the best possible way: your videos are so weird. The old video games, the desktop. It trips me up because I don’t know what I’m looking at. Is it laziness, is it art? I doubt the websites you show are an accident. It gives me a similar feeling that I get when seeing liminal spaces. I don’t know if it’s real or not. Same goes for your music. It feels old, like old video game music. But at the same time it’s new. Not a lot happens yet still it’s moving forward. It’s uncanny. Keep it up! 
I think there where two problems with the bass / kick. Too little side chaining and the bass was not always on the kick and sometimes even a bit too early.

The master of cheesy Synthwave is back again. Good job overall, I like it, Indeed the lead that’s starting at 1:59 doesn’t fit in terms of the melody imho, some notes appear to be slightly crooked when playing in parallel with that synth melody. Personally I would use that lead as a lead, more long notes with a distance in between instead of notes playing a fast melody. Once you’ve done that I would go back to the second quarter of that song, just before you’d end the song. You already did a good job on variation, no need to continue bringing more and more stuff imho. But if this is supposed to become a 5 minute track, just do it.
