New update: Thank you all for your feed back. Here is the latest version. Still looking for more feedback if your willing. I removed some of the highhat volume.
Here was the old version to compare.
Here was the even older version to compare.

It doesn’t. But it’s not “too fat”. And it already sounds pretty good! Well done.
What’s that bass? Self-made? Preset? What synth? Sounds cool.
Of course. I would say it’s ready to be released. Nothing to complain about.
And I really hope the hat smoked some great Haze to become a “highhat”.
Thank you for your feed back! <3
It seems to me like you are hearing the grass growing somewhat. Can’t find anything bad in the mix while the kick is so loud. I like the kick in v13 the most. Maybe use v15 and either lower the kick volume or make it shorter? Also I miss kind of sidechain ducking, isn’t that usual for this kind of genre? I find it hard to judge anything as long as the kick is so aggressive.
Maybe 1. some extreme ducking of everything else on the kick, then you could make it much quieter, but still having such a dominant character. Then 2. shorten the kick with a sudden fall off, quick release, might give a very “mechanical” character.
Thanks, well I guess there is still a lot to improve. It’s an altered preset and then mutliband distortion on it, and eqing.
Holy Batman @alien7, I agree with ffx and think that kick is way too big and loud! I realize you want it to have impact, but this might be a little too much of a good thing. The main riff synth is rather excellent tough. Drag the volume of the kick down (quite) a bit and you’ll find it will probably tie in nicely with that riff. Kind of gives me Rammstein-esque vibes, which I like very much.
@ffx I take it you’re going for a loud sound but this feels a bit unbalanced to me still. I think @fumesek is right in that things don’t really feel like they belong together. Compression could help. But maybe it’s also just missing a layer.
Have you ever seen The Big Lebowski (1998)? “All the dude ever wanted was his rug back. It really tied the room together.”. If your track is the room, I think you are missing a rug to tie your track together.
Hm, now that you mention it, I think you’re right. The kick is maybe 1-2 dB too loud, but besides of that @alien7 did a good job. I don’t think the kick is aggressive, I didn’t even notice it at the first listen.
I think the long bass it that rug. It just needs some more work mixing-wise, but it’s already good imo.
New update: Volume basdrum down and small side chain added.
I think that helps a lot! Feels like it has more groove. And the reduced kick drum invites me into the tune, rather than being all in my face. Good stuff.
I guess this can go here. Threw it together very quickly so the mix isn’t 100%
I haven’t figured out how the different sections should flow together so any suggestions are welcome.
The backward vocals are great! The overall vibe and the sounds are nice. The sections jump indeed / don’t feel connected yet, indeed. And from pattern 24 on wards or so it feels a bit messy to me still.
The B part has the birds and that nice little bell melody. Maybe you can make a transition featuring that little bell melody in a different context? So it foreshadows it.
Broadly speaking, what I like that you have 2 different sections. What I don’t like is that you basically repeat that A/B part without it developing further. Yes there are changes, but to me they feel like more of the same without saying anything new. So I would suggest trying to thin things out the first parts. Or layering some more active, driving percussion underneath it. Or change the chords and give it a different vibe the 2nd round.
I’d also be inclined to get a bit more of hook going. Something that grabs your attentions and holds it. Everything feels kind of floaty and out there. Don’t get me wrong, your tune is a lovely place to hang out in. And there is a lot to see. But I feel I need something to take my hand and guide me around the place. If you know what I mean.
Those are some suggestions that occurred to me when listening to your track.
Some nonsense techno using weird Zebralette3 sounds:

EDIT: Deleted, too crappy
Damn it can’t link it
Yes, please! Sounds, big, clear and ready, to me. Maybe it could use the stereo field a bit more. What are you hearing that you’re having issues with @ToybOx?
No problems just posting my WIP here!
I generally don’t enjoy much in the synthwave vein, but I enjoyed this! Threw me back to some classic Mu-ziq vibes. Gotta finish this one!
Really great
Where are all your albums bro? I want to listen to complete tracks of all these snippets you post!
I’m trying to get 4 tracks together atm. Should be released on limited vinyl when i finish them and digital obviously.
I might even make some limited cassettes myself too
Excellent news. Be sure to post the release on the forum here somewhere. Look forward to hearing it!
