Ticks Per Line

This ticks per line I don’t understand how to use it or what it for. In the manual it is described as resolution for something like an delay command. That is one line is divided into 12 “ticks” by default. So I could put in a delay value of 6 and get and 1/8 not if lines per beat would bet 4?

also way not just use the lines per beat as resolution? what are thebenefits?

my song options window don’t look like the one in the online manual and I have 3.1.0

I’m new on Renoise, so I’m not sure I answer your question, but with 12 ticks per line, you can have a smooth automation of 12 sub-values per line. For delays, you have a specific sub-column, for each note column, that can accepts values from 00 (no delay) to FF (quite full delay). You can have 1/8 note with a 80 value on this sub-column (if lines per beat is 4). But you can also use the FX command Qx with a value in ticks. And here, yes, you could have 1/8 note if you put Q6 with 12 TPL (not sure, never tried it).

yes this was tested just now the exact input is -Q06 in the FX sub column.

but this was never really covered in the manual. The manual is had to read sometimes or perhaps I’m just retarded.

You may find this of use if you haven’t already read it. http://tutorials.renoise.com/wiki/Song_Settings

Cheers,

I have it :badteethslayer:

You have 4 technics to make your delay :w00t:

  1. Put Q6 on volume sub-column
  2. Put Q6 on pan sub-column
  3. Put 80 on delay sub-column
  4. Put Q06 on FX sub-column

I try them all in the same track, all works fine :walkman:

Edit: of course, not all at the same time
