hey i understand how to program in renoise in different time sig’s eg 6/8 atering the pattern length along with the LPB but, i dont know how to get a click track to click along in 6/8 3/4 etc, as i play guitar, keys and so on into renoise, if someone could help me tht would be great, at the moment i just make a click using a hi hat or a sine click, but this takes time and annoys me, cheers .x
afaik, the metronome can only do beats (quaternotes) so you’ll have to double the bpm to get 8ths if you want to use the metronome. not pretty so i’d go with a “written metronome”.
ah, i see a feature request coming up!
it’s gets a bit messy to make all the different variations of strong and soft beat, quarter- and eight-notes and length of metronome loop (7/4, 21/16 etc.) in a setup dialog.
just throwing this out there (could be a shit suggestion): it could be a good idea to have some kind of pattern with variable length which would loop just as the metronome does (independent of length of patterns… it just repeats) so the user can make any kind of metronome beat. cuz that’s basically what one has to do anyway if you have an odd time to count.
but that would be a lot of dev work for something that’s pretty much there already with a bit of effort.
simplest improvement would be to just be able to set the metronome to whatever your LPB is? what i mean is, if i make a pattern with 112 steps, and set my LPB to 7, i’d want my metronome to be 7 as well, right?
or maybe not… i don’t know, most of the time i work in either 1/4 (variations on 128 steps) or 4/7 or something (variatons on 112 steps)… i don’t really know much about time signatures to be honest…
(starting to wonder why i even mingled in this discussion)
Metronome settings (Preferences - Audio - Metronome) has Beats Per Bar and Lines Per Beat settings. Doesn’t that cover what most people are wanting on this thread?
