I think theoretically it should be possible to analyze sample content through Lua, but it would be very slow compared to being done natively. Also, people could have problems with it not being super precise, maybe…

Now that we’ve got an amplitude demodulator device in the form of the signal follower, why not also get a frequency demodulator in the form of a pitch tracking device? If there was a good free command line pitch detection utility it shouldn’t be that hard. SoX doesn’t seem to have it, but I found http://aubio.org/ and it could be worth a try. Not sure if the windows version is flaky or not.
