I wonder how snappy the toggling would be through scripting?
I use Mogue’s LPBx tool to expand a complete song (automations & track delay columns are taken into account), and it can take quite some time.
Well. It could take some time to create the first clone. But afterwards everything should probably be updated via observables depending on where your cursor is.
It would be meant to be used as a helper when tracking with your keyboard. There might be cases with live recording (and midi mapping) where it wouldn’t be fast enough.
PS. There is always a 4x clone. It just needs to be synced and updated with the normal version whenever that changes.
